Yanbo Li
Graduate Student
Yanbo Li is a graduate student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His research interests lie at the intersection of computational communication and political communication. Specifically, he is interested in using computational methods to study online misinformation and incivility contagion within and between different countries, as well as the factors that foster these processes.
Yanbo has presented his research at several conferences, including the International Communication Association (ICA) and the International Conference on Meaningful Play. His recent work includes a study on the “toxidization” of social media discussions about the Russian-Ukraine war in China and the United States, as well as research on the learning outcomes of educational gaming.
Yanbo has also contributed to teaching, serving as an instructor for ADV150: Introduction to Advertising in Fall 2023. His work reflects a commitment to understanding the dynamics of online communication and its impact on society.
